When you run it's your body working. Running is your body's way of functioning. When you want to get somewhere fast you run. Your body takes your food and makes it into energy so that your body can run and function. One of the fastest people in the Olympics is Usain Bolt. He can cover 100 meters in 9.69 seconds. Woe thats fast! He is someone who trains his "machine" aka his body to run fast. They say if you run with certain gear it improves your run. If you run without shoes it's better for your body and improves running technique. To make your run easier you can simply change something like the type of socks you wear, how you drink your water, your headphones, and a watch. Running and how it relates to a machine is the steps of how you run. When you run your leg makes a d shape. Depending on the position of your foot determines on fast you run. I have a video on running slowed down so you can see how they run without shoes. Your body will always be ready to run. It's built like a machine and acts like one.

Simple Machines in your body
Did you know that your body is a simple machine? You have levers All over your body and you may not even realize it. The main levers are your elbows and your knees along with the muscles attached to them.
Your forearm is an example of natural way of motion rather than force. The biceps is a muscle that flexes the arm. Tendons attach this muscle close to the elbow. So when the biceps squeeze the arm goes up and when they relax the arm goes down.
There is a picture below that showed the are and it's muscles.
Your knees are also like this in a way. Your thigh muscles or quadriceps are attached to the shin bone or tibia just below the knee joint. The muscle generates movement by shortening and pulling on a bone. Even though this picture below of the person that is on a machine. It still shows the extension of the muscles that can get a task done, and this task was to lift the weight.
